The studio is the creative vision of interior designer and fine artist, Tim Burden. Tim is driven by a desire to create interiors that arouse the senses with a playful blend of colours, textures and furnishings that say as much about you as they do him.
A master of blurred reality with no space for mediocrity, Tim’s designs tread the line between his limitless imagination and the actuality of what your home will become.
A lover of the detailed work of measuring and visualising spaces, Tim spent much of his childhood creating scale models of the houses that intrigued him, including Blackheath Mansion in Suffolk.
After attending Wimbledon College of Art, Tim studied Interior Architecture & Design at Nottingham Trent University. He then spent several years learning his trade working with London-based design studios before setting up Timothy James Interiors in 2011.
Now Tim leads a talented collective of independent artisans and bespoke makers, including fine artists, upholsterers, curtain makers and joiners, all centred on bringing his visual designs to life, to deliver your comfortable and curated home.

How we work with you
Enquiry
The first step is to have a short call to discuss your project, potential budget and timescales and make sure we’re a good fit for each other. We then schedule an on-site consultation, followed by a detailed project quote.
Brief
Once appointed, we start by exploring your different spaces and start to brainstorm ideas. During this time we take a detailed brief, ensuring we fully understand your lifestyle requirements, your preferences and any key concepts that you’re keen for us to incorporate.
Concepts & Design
Working like artists, we create photo-realistic CGI “artist’s impressions” to show you how your newly designed interiors could look. We then turn these concepts into a detailed design presentation, ready for implementation.
Sourcing & Procurement
Once your designs are approved, we then source, cost and procure everything required to bring our complete vision to life, including furniture, soft furnishings, lighting and accessories.
Project Coordination
We coordinate everything for you from start to finish, keeping you fully informed and working alongside other people involved in your project including architects, builders, bathroom and kitchen specialists and other contractors.
Installation & Styling
We offer a full turnkey service that considers every detail ready for you to simply move in and enjoy your home.
