The studio is the creative vision of Tim Burden, a rare blend of artist and interior designer. Tim is driven by his desire to create interiors that evoke the senses with a playful blend of colour, textures and high-end furnishings that say as much about you as they do him.
A master of blurred reality with no space for mediocrity, Tim’s photo-realistic visuals tread the line between his limitless imagination and the actuality of what your home will become.
A lover of the detailed work of measuring and visualising spaces, Tim spent much of his childhood creating scale models of the houses that inspired him, including Blackheath Mansion in Suffolk.
After attending Wimbledon College of Art, Tim studied Interior Architecture & Design at Nottingham Trent University. He then spent several years learning his trade working with London-based design studios before setting up Timothy James Interiors in 2011.
Now Tim leads a talented collective of independent artisans and bespoke makers, including fine artists, upholsterers, curtain makers and joiners, all centred on bringing his visual designs to life, to deliver your comfortable and curated home.

How we work with you
Enquiry
The first step is to have a short call to discuss your project, potential budget and timescales and make sure we’re a good fit for each other.
Brief
We’ll meet on site to explore your different spaces and start to imagine the possibilities. During this time we’ll take a full brief, understanding your style preferences and any key pieces, like furniture or artwork, that you would like us to try and incorporate.
Design
Working like artists, we use photo-realistic 3D CGI visuals to create your concept & final designs, giving you the confidence to move forward knowing precisely what your home will look and feel like once we’ve transformed it.
Sourcing
Once your designs are approved, we source and order everything needed to bring our vision to life including furniture, soft furnishings and lighting.
Project Coordination
We coordinate everything for you from start to finish, keeping you fully informed and working alongside other people involved in your project including architects, builders, bathroom and kitchen specialists and other contractors.
Installation & Styling
We offer a full turnkey service that considers every detail ready for you to simply move in and enjoy your home.
