Bath Barn Conversion
A creative family retreat in the Bath countryside
Nestled within the rolling countryside surrounding Bath, this barn conversion has been transformed into a vibrant and expressive family home. Designed as a place to gather, create and unwind, the interiors reflect a joyful way of living – where music, art and everyday moments take centre stage.
Working closely with our clients, we reimagined the property into a home that feels warm, relaxed and full of personality. Moving away from the expected muted rural aesthetic, the design embraces colour, character and a sense of playfulness, while still remaining connected to its beautiful setting near Bath.
A colourful, creative approach to interior design in Bath
Our design approach blended rustic textures with bold, layered interiors inspired by both classic Americana and the relaxed charm of the Cotswolds. The spaces were shaped around how the family lives – hosting, dining, music-making and spending time together.
A cocooning sitting room, colour-drenched in Farrow & Ball ‘Chappell Green’, provides a more intimate retreat for movie nights and reading, while the rest of the home remains open, sociable and full of energy. Artwork, books, and collected objects bring depth and individuality throughout.
A joyful barn conversion rooted in Bath living
The finished home is a true reflection of its owners – creative, welcoming and full of life. From evenings around the piano to relaxed nights by the fire, the house supports a rich and sociable way of living.
Set in the countryside near Bath, this particular project captures a more personal approach to interior design – one that prioritises comfort, creativity and connection.
