The Studio

We are a small, inspired and very passionate interior design studio. We take great pleasure in creating colourful, vibrant and eclectic interiors for our clients.

Led by Creative Director, Tim Burden, we design houses that bring you joy and make you smile every single day.

From briefing right through to completion, we work hard to make our process fun and collaborative, so you get the home you really want.

We work with an exciting and talented group of craftsmen and suppliers, many of whom we have worked with for years, to bring our designs to life.

We typically work in West London and the Cotswolds but are always open to exciting new projects no matter where they are.

About Tim

Timothy James Interiors was founded in 2011 by Tim Burden.

Tim’s first love affair with interior design happened in the late eighties when he was just ten years old. A family friend invited the Burdens to stay at her country house on the Suffolk coast over the summer holidays. Finding himself free to roam around the beautiful mansion, Tim became captivated by the maze of corridors and echoey halls. He built a scale model of the mansion as a labour of love which, with a little help from his dad, took him a year to complete.

Nine years later, after studying painting at Wimbledon School of Art, Tim was accepted into the prestigious Nottingham Trent University. He graduated in 2003 with an honours degree in Interior Architecture and Design.

For the next two years he worked for big events companies, designing sets for high profile corporate events across Europe. He then followed his heart into luxury residential design and hasn’t looked back since.

Tim spent eight years working for various well established interior designers which gave him the experience and expertise to set up Timothy James Interiors.
